This article explains how to link the Epic of the current ticket to the new ticket in Create / Clone issue(s) (JMWE app) post-function.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the desired workflow transition and add the “Create / Clone issue(s) (JMWE app)” post-function.

2. Fill in the required details.

3. Select the checkbox “Run a Groovy script after the issue is created” under “Post-creation script” and add the below “Post-creation script:”

   if(issue.get("customfield_10000"))
       newIssue.linkIssue("relates to",issue.get("customfield_10000"))

Replace 10000 with the id of the “Epic Link” field and replace relates to with the desired link name.

With this, when the transition is executed, a new issue is created with the configured details and is linked to the Epic of the current issue.
